Eye Cream

The skin under your eyes is delicate and thin, so it may need a little extra love. If you’re looking to minimise the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness, a good eye cream may be just the solution.

What is eye cream and why should I use it?

The skin around the eyes is especially delicate and prone to developing fine lines and wrinkles. It is also where you’ll notice the effects of poor sleep or heightened stress in the form of dark, puffy skin. Creams made for the eye area tend to have a thicker, creamier texture and are specifically targeted at one or more of these concerns.

Looking to fight the signs of ageing? Retinol, a concentrated form of vitamin A, is the key ingredient in a lot of anti-ageing formulations. It works by strengthening collagen and encouraging new skin growth, smoothing blemishes and giving skin more elasticity. Peptides and Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) are other popular options for age-defying creams.

Antioxidants fight inflammation and help to heal the damage caused by UV radiation and airborne pollutants. The result? Healthier skin that looks brighter and younger. Look for an under eye cream containing ingredients such as vitamins A, C and E, Idebenone, green tea, aloe vera and other botanicals. For added protection against sunlight exposure, go for an SPF-rated cream.

If you’re looking for a fix for dark circles and under-eye puffiness, an eye serum, gel or lotion with an invigorating dose of caffeine can help by improving blood flow and fluid drainage. Vitamin K is also used in some formulations for this purpose. Struggling with dry skin around the eye area? Look for creams and balms featuring ceramides or hyaluronic acid.

Applying Eye Cream

Eye cream can be applied by gently dabbing a small quantity along the skin under the eye then using light, swiping motions to rub in. While some brands include a specially designed applicator wand, others can be applied with a fingertip. Anti-puff formulations may come with a cooling roll-on applicator that can be applied directly.

Our range of eye creams and serums address a variety of skin concerns. Find a product to refresh and rejuvenate your eyes, wind back the clock with anti-aging lotions and make up for those late nights by clearing away dark circles and puffiness.
