It was a very disappointing experience

I recently needed to buy a gift at short notice, so I visited the Myer Chatswood store. The staff member who assisted me was very friendly and pleasant. Before making my purchase, I specifically asked whether the Hermès gift bag was available, and I was told that it was. However, after I paid, the perfume was simply placed directly into the large Hermès paper bag without any gift wrapping or even a presentation box. I had made it clear from the beginning that this was intended as a gift, so I naturally expected a level of presentation that reflected the Hermès brand, such as gift wrapping and a ribbon. When I asked about a ribbon, one was only added after I insisted, and unfortunately it was a bright pink ribbon that looked quite cheap and did not suit the luxury image of the brand. As a result, I had no choice but to take the gift home and replace the bright pink ribbon with a genuine Hermès ribbon that I already had before giving it to the recipient. As you can see in the attached photo, the perfume was not even wrapped in tissue paper. It was simply placed inside the Hermès shopping bag without any gift wrapping or presentation. I found this extremely disappointing, especially considering that I had clearly explained from the beginning that it was a gift. I believe Myer could offer a much higher standard of hospitality and attention to detail, especially when selling luxury products. Chatswood Chase has a dedicated Hermès boutique, and although it would have taken me longer to get there, I now genuinely regret not making my purchase there instead. There was one more aspect of my visit that left me disappointed. I have a Myer membership card, so I asked whether I could earn or redeem points with this purchase, or even what the purpose of the membership program was. Unfortunately, none of the three staff members I spoke with could answer my questions. Instead, I was told that I should check the information myself before coming into the store. I found this response quite disappointing. I would have expected staff to have at least a basic understanding of Myer's own membership program or to make an effort to find the correct information for a customer. This experience only added to my overall disappointment with the service I received.

I love this when I started with this sample and then bought the full size.. Absolutely the best summer scent. It's classy. Timeless and definitely signature scent worthy. Not a safe blind buy though.
