A bit of shampoo on the brush, then rub it around on the textured pad. The combination of the shampoo and pad help clean even the most stubborn of makeup residue on brushes. The suction of the pad works well for adhering it either by the sink (when not in use) or in the sink. A fabulously designed, affordable, durable product.
