Faulty - shrunk when washed as per directions

I chose these for my daughter because of their long length. The description mentioned the height of the model and I could see how long they were on someone of that height. I washed them as per directions, and they have shrunk to an unwearable short length. The fabric should have been washed and preshrunk before it was cut and sewn into pants! I know I could get a refund if I make the trip to the shop to return them, but life is so busy and when you order online the product should fit as it does in the photo.
