Average - tried really hard to make it useful

Have owned this for 6mths and I have tried several different techniques to try and get the best out of the mop for both the hard floors and the small rugs that I have. However, to get the best results (which are average at best) you either have to go extremely slowly or do the same spot over and over again. When you push the vacuum forward you are going with the spin of the roller and it pretty much does nothing as there is no friction against the floor. Therefore all of the effort is done on the pulling back of the vacuum going against the spin of the roller. Even when doing this technique I still have to go over and over to remove marks or spots. So you have to push then pull across every inch of the floor. The biggest issue is there is not enough pressure to the floor to allow the roller to really rub as it goes. You can't push it down harder (like you do a mop) to get the marks off. So I end up leaving the mop stationary in a spot or going over and over and over trying to get at the mark. This issue is also evident when I tried to do the rugs. There is little or no effect from using the HydroVac. The result is no better than if I had wiped the carpets with a damp cloth by hand.If there is any uneveness in the floors the Hydrovac simply sits on top and does not get into the lower levels - so tiles or floorboards are a bit hit and miss. Although the vacuum suction itself is fine the design of the device does not allow you to get into the corners of walls and floors OR around furniture and built in cabinets etc. There is about 2.5cm gap that does not get cleaned as the mop can't get close enough. Due to the nature of mop tank it also does not let you get under things well, so if you can't move items you will not get under them. I already had a great stick vacuum that sucks right up to the edges with amazing power and can be bent and twisted to get under and around almost anything. I was really looking for something that made quicker work of vacuuming AND mopping the floors, while also being ready to use. Unfortunately the HydroVac has been an expensive failure. It is quicker for me to vacuum with my stick and then grab a manual mop, which does a much much better job of cleaning the floors in half the time.
