Quality Shoes but They Hurt

I bought these shoes for a race-day and for the price, I can't rave about them. I am a standard size 9 and they fit correctly, however the taper at the toes really started to hurt after a few hours. It wouldn't be possible to go up in size because they would slip at the heel, but unless you are thin-footed (I am medium-wide), you'll definitely feel these shoes like I did. The quality of the suede was good and the block heel was the right choice. I realise it's hard to find a dress shoe that doesn't hurt, but I thought these might be more functionable. I'll struggle to put them on again. I might try to break them in by putting a widener into them for a while.
