Hydro-Ester Cleaning System (HECS) is a facial cleanser designed to deliver a thorough, yet hydrating cleanse, restoring skin purity in one minute. It employs a dual approach to both effectively remove external impurities, SPF and makeup, and replenish essential skin lipids to strengthen the skins moisture barrier, making it an ideal cleanser for all skin types. The result is skin that is instantly more radiant, with a smoother, softer feel.
Hydro-Ester Cleaning System is formulated with a blend of gentle cleansing agents to dissolve stubborn impurities including waterproof makeup and UV filters (found in sunscreens), both on skin surface and within pores. The lightweight ester base helps to breakdown oil-based debris, and emulsifies on contact with water to rinse off in a single step.
To ensure skin hydration is preserved during the cleansing process, Hydro-Ester Cleaning System (HECS) also contains solanum lycopersicum fruit lipids to maintain overall barrier function. Derived from upcycled organic tomato skins and seed oil, these lipids consist of fatty acids that play an important role in maintaining healthy-looking skin. Linoleic acid is a known building block for ceramides within the skin, helping to improve moisture retention. Oleic acid contributes to moisture retention and helps to soften skin. Rich in lycopene and carotene, these fruit lipids are responsible for the formulas orange colour.
Reflecting NIODs commitment to responsible innovation, the solanum lycopersicum fruit lipids used in HECS are sourced from upcycled tomato skins and seed oil. The seeds and skin (pomace) are diverted from the waste stream of tomato juice processing. The farmers growing the tomatoes used in the solanum lycopersicum fruit lipids are paid a fair price for their resources, and share in the profits generated.
