Sticky and tacky on hands and hair

Tried twice. Very tacky and sticky on my hair and hands. Can't comb or brush through my hair. Concerned it would damage my blonde highlighted hair if I persisted. (I use Nak Hydrate Shampoo & Conditioner, Replends leave in moisturizer & Detangle Mist and am very happy with those). Unfortunately I just can't use the Thermal Shield.
