Bistro XXL Air Fryer

Being the first air fryer I've owned I can't compare it to any others, but what I can say is what I like and don't like about the Bistro XXL Air Fryer. First of all I like the display (controls) of the unit, its easy to use and I specially like the preset selections, press the button and turn it on its that easy. Secondly the size of the basket, its decent, you could cook a whole large chicken in there if you want, its that big. If I were to be picky about the basket I would say that the gauge of the steel used feels a little thin, but this doesn't mean it hinders its performance just think it could be a little thicker. Next thing to be picky about is the power cord, not the cord itself but there is no cord stay. So if your like me and your air fryer doesn't live on the bench you can't keep the cord tidy. Not a biggy, but still I would of like to keep it all neat when not in use. Overall I quite like the unit, its easy to use and the results are quite good.

Great Performance, But Some Design Flaws

I really love my GreenPan Airfryer and chose it specifically because it’s marketed as a non-toxic option, However, there is one design flaw that’s worth mentioning. Where the basket handle hooks into the outer drawer (the housing the basket slides into), the hooks scrape against the basket each time you insert or remove it. Over time, this has caused scratching on the basket surface, which is disappointing, especially for a product designed to be non-toxic. From what I understand, once that surface is scratched, it can defeat the purpose of choosing a non-toxic coating in the first place. So I feel a little like iv waisted my money… Despite this issue, I genuinely love how well this airfryer works and would buy it again. I just hope GreenPan reviews the basket and drawer design to prevent the scratching, as it undermines what is otherwise an excellent, well-performing appliance. There’s also a small rubber grommet at the base of the basket. You have to be extremely careful when washing it because it falls out very easily. I’ve almost lost it down the sink drain more times than I can count. This is another detail that really needs to be reviewed from a design perspective.
