Best kids’ lunchbox we’ve found

We really like this lunchbox — so much that I’ve been looking for more of them. We’ve tried quite a few kids’ lunchboxes, and they often seem to be either a bit too small to fit everything we want to pack for the day, or so big that they take up too much room in the school bag. This one is pretty much the perfect size. The compartments are also much better thought out than most. Rather than having several sections that are all roughly the same size, there’s a good variety, so you can fit a sandwich or larger item as well as fruit, snacks and smaller bits without wasting space. The build quality is another big plus. We’ve had clips, hinges and attachments break on other lunchboxes, particularly after lots of opening and closing. Our kids also have a strange habit of kicking their lunchboxes around the playground, so they get a harder life than they probably should. These feel genuinely sturdy — the clips and attachments don’t feel like they’re going to bend, fatigue or snap with normal use. The three clips make it very easy to seal properly, and even my five-year-old can open it using the little tabs provided. You can also actually feel the seal releasing when you open it, which gives you confidence that it has closed properly. It’s dishwasher safe, comes apart into two main pieces, and is very easy to clean whether you put it through the dishwasher or just give it a quick wash in the sink. The kids love the colours too. Overall, compared with other lunchboxes we’ve used, this gets the important things right: size, compartment layout, durability, sealing and ease of cleaning.
