Why pay a grand for a stop of light?

In use for a couple of weeks now and very happy. Super sharp, fast and accurate autofocus and very little or no chromatic aberration. The bokeh isn't as much as I'd like, but it's an expensive and heavy stop of light to improve it by buying the f2.8 so given that the bokeh is acceptable. The macro setting is also an added bonus. Not true 1:1 macro, but again very acceptable results. All this in a lens which is less than half of the weight of my previous Nikon 200 f.2.8. Really pleased with the all round performance of the lens and the low weight is a huge bonus. Only downside I can find is the awful grey colour - Come on Sony, why isn't this available in black!!
