— 5 out of 5 stars
I’ve been using the FE 24–70mm F2.8 GM II as a general-purpose lens, and it has quickly become my go-to for almost everything. Sharpness is outstanding across the entire zoom range, even wide open at F2.8. Whether shooting at 24mm or 70mm, images come out consistently crisp with excellent contrast and detail. Autofocus is extremely fast and reliable, locking onto subjects quickly and tracking smoothly, which makes it great for both stills and video. One of the biggest improvements is the size and weight, it’s noticeably lighter and more compact than previous versions, which makes a real difference for extended handheld use. The balance on the camera feels excellent, and it’s comfortable to carry around all day. Overall, this is an exceptional lens that delivers on all fronts, highly recommended.
