Hungarian goose down is the most premium filling, designed to generate extra warmth, using fine feather and down from European geese. European geese are larger and bred in colder climates, giving them a bigger down cluster, which holds larger pockets of air that can be heated, providing a higher warmth rating.

Feather & down quilts provide medium to high levels of warmth, with very minimal weight. Feather & down is a natural fibre, is softer and is regarded as the most luxurious fill for quilts. Usually made from goose or duck down and feathers, the higher the down content, the softer and more loft the quilt has. Loft is the term to describe the height that the quilt can reach. By giving the clusters room to expand, this creates loft, where air then gets trapped between the clusters and are warmed up through body heat. The more down clusters in the quilt, and the bigger the clusters are, the more heat can be trapped in the cluster. Feather & down quilts are not recommended for people with allergies.
