These socks, which are more like heavy denier stocking socks, or compression socks are just what I wanted. They launder beautifully and one needs to watch out not to put a ladder in them. With dress pants on you don't want unsightly socks with your good shoes, so these are the ideal solution. Thanks Jockey.

The feet are a snug fit and very comfortable. I find the elastic at the top of the sock a little tight around my calf/ankle but I suppose it will soften over time.
