Myer’s involvement in the community stems from our founder’s tradition of philanthropy. We believe that by engaging with and contributing to the communities in which we live and work, we can have a positive social impact, make a lasting contribution and create a more sustainable future.Image courtesy of Global Sisters. The Myer Community Fund is the national charity of Myer Pty Ltd. It’s a public ancillary fund committed to raising funds from the public through interaction with Myer team members, customers and suppliers. Each year the Myer Community Fund works with more than 55 charities across Australia, supporting them in their work to provide advocacy, prevention, early intervention and support services to women and children impacted by family violence. Throughout the year, Myer store team members raise funds for their store’s nominated local charity, as well as our national partners, with more than $1.6K raised in FY18.
We’re using our influence to form partnerships that give back. We do this by partnering with leading organisations seeking to address measures of change, prevention and meeting the needs of the vulnerable for a safer future.
Our key community partnerships include:
The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest welfare providers, dedicated to helping people in crisis. The Salvos provide a diverse and responsive suite of services for women and women with children escaping family violence, ranging from prevention to early intervention and crisis or high risk responses.
Australian Childhood Foundation is a national organisation dedicated to supporting children and families devastated by abuse, family violence and neglect. The Foundation provides specialist therapeutic services for children as well as specialist support to carers, parents, family and important adults in the networks around children, such as schools and child protection services.
