Community Investment

Myer’s involvement in the community stems from our founder’s tradition of philanthropy. We believe that by engaging with and contributing to the communities in which we live and work, we can have a positive social impact, make a lasting contribution and help achieve positive change.

About the Myer Community Fund

The Myer Community Fund is the national charity of Myer Pty Ltd, it is a public ancillary fund and governed by its own Board.  Myer Community Fund is committed to raising funds through charitable activities involving Myer team members, customers , brand partners and suppliers.  The Myer Community Fund

is focused on supporting children and families in Australia.

Annually, The Myer Community Fund engages with and supports more than 60 charities across Australia.

In FY21, the Myer Community Fund was proud to raise over $825,000 to support children and families in Australia, including those experiencing family violence or requiring emergency financial relief. Funds were directed to our national charity partner The Salvation Army and local charity partners nationally. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, an emergency relief program was implemented to provide grants to charities experiencing increased service demands due to the pandemic. Furthermore, the Myer Community Fund supported communities impacted by flood and storm damage via Givit and paediatric healthcare through The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Partnerships With Myer

Myer has a long-standing history of community support and engagement, and we continue to maintain strong and meaningful partnerships with our local communities.  We do this by partnering with leading charitable organisations seeking to address measures of change and support the needs of the vulnerable for a safer and more secure future.

The Myer Community Fund is proud to be an Impact Partner, with funds raised to go on and support support both trauma prevention and trauma recovery programs for people who are at risk of or have suffered child violence in Australia

The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is one of Australia’s largest welfare providers dedicated to helping people in crisis.  The Salvation Army provide a diverse and responsive suite of services for women and women with children escaping family violence, ranging from prevention to early intervention and crisis or high risk responses.
