Suppporting the arts

Over the past 100 years, Myer has cultivated a deep affection and respect for the Arts, mainly due to the example set by the company’s founder, Sidney Myer, who remains one of Australia’s greatest philanthropists.

 

As a part of Sidney’s ongoing legacy, Myer has previously supported some of Australia’s most popular art exhibitions and institutions, including the National Gallery of Victoria, the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Archibald Prize.

Over the past 12 months, Myer supported the arts through our partnerships with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Mary Poppins the Musical in Melbourne.

In 2011, Myer will present a number of MSO concerts including the Monash Series. As presenting sponsor of the Monash Series, Myer provides the community with an opportunity to experience this enchanting program of music featuring some of the world’s great classical artists performing with the MSO.

Myer is also an official partner of Hairspray the Musical. After an award winning, sell out season in Melbourne, the show now moves to Sydney’s Lyric Theatre at Star City commencing 11 June 2011.
