Thank you for your interest in Myer and the Community and the Myer Community Partnership Program

As a company, Myer is committed to connecting with the many important local events & organisations that play a valuable role in making our community a fun, safe, active and healthy place to live

The Myer Community Partnership Program aims to support events and activities coordinated by local organisations.

Over the past year, Myer has supported a range of community events such as the Westmead Children's Hospital Teddy Bears Picnic, the University of Wollongong Fashion Week, Carols in the City 2011 in Mackay and the CityProm Tree Lighting Ceremony in Launceston.

What is a Community Partnership?

A Community Partnership is an agreement to buy a 'level of association', for cash or in-kind (including product) from a community group in exchange for leveragable benefits.
These typically include:

  • Media exposure
  • Signage and advertising
  • Tickets/hospitality
  • The right to use the sponsored party's intellectual property in Myer marketing
  • Product placement
  • General community benefit;
  • Corporate reputational benefit;
  • Benefit to key Myer stakeholders including employees and loyal customers

The organisation or activity must fall into one of the preferred categories listed below:

  1. Children's Health
  2. Council/Community events
  3. Fashion
  4. Sustainability/Environment
  5. Creative programs for young people or the disadvantaged

Please note that while we appreciate the important role that sport plays in our communities, we have focused our attentions on community activities that are often overlooked.

The Myer Community Partnership program does not provide support or funding for:

  • Political or religious activities
  • Individuals or families (directly or for fundraising purposes)
  • Projects, events or organisations that are undertaken outside of Australia, including overseas travel

  • Hazardous, dangerous or gambling related activities
  • Programs or initiatives that may be construed as prejudiced or discriminatory
